• US equities increased modestly for the week along with treasuries ending the week higher.

• Initial jobless claims came in at 330,000.

• US based equity mutual funds had inflows of $1.9 billion for the week.

• For December, non-farm payrolls increased 74,000, which was below estimates of 197,000 while the unemployment rate dropped to 6.7%

• Small-cap stocks outperformed large-cap stocks while large-cap growth outperformed large-cap value stocks.

• Eight of the ten economic sectors had positive performance for the week with utilities and healthcare as the best performing and telecom and materials as the worst performing sectors.

• For the week ending 1/10/14, the S&P 500 gained 0.60% closing at 1842.37. The MSCI EAFE Index gained 0.63% closing at 1910.51 and the MSCI EM Index dropped -0.95% to end the week at 970.15.
