• Treasury prices increased markedly while US equity markets fell for the week due to weak emerging market fundamentals.

• The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 3.5% which was the largest weekly index decline since 2012.

• US based equity mutual funds had inflows of $4.0 billion for the week to mark their third consecutive week of inflows.

• For December, single family home sales increased 1.9% versus a 5% decline in condo/coop sales, representing the first monthly gain in five months.

• Small-cap stocks and large-cap stocks fell in line with each other, while large-cap growth stocks outperformed large-cap value stocks.

• The best performing sectors for the week were utilities and telecom services while the worst performing sectors were materials, financials and industrials.

• For the week ending 1/24/14, the S&P 500 fell -2.63% closing at 1790.29. The MSCI EAFE Index lost -2.00% closing at 1881.51 and the MSCI EM Index dropped -2.30% to end the week at 949.9.
